Sydney car festival newsletter

Final few days and things have got absolutely frantic in the office.

We have been swamped with phone calls from traders, entrants, “wannabe entrants” and the general public, it’s just gone crazy.

All the indoor spots for cars and traders are absolutely full; in fact I’m not sure where we are going to put all the cars just yet. But I’ll figure it out.

We still have plenty of space outside in the undercover area and also the rest of the venue, so keep the entries coming, this is going to be the biggest one yet.

The selection of traders is fantastic this year, from the usual model cars and go fast bits to the more unusual Chiropractors checking out your bad backs, it’s all there.

I’ve just received my copy of Serious V8’s DVD and its about time someone has done a high quality DVD for the V8 market. It covers everything from Holden Commodores, a full throttle GTO Drift car, a hot rod to a genuine Phase Four GT HO Falcon. This is one very entertaining DVD. Oh it also has some bits on the Sydney Car Festival as well and they are available at the show.

One thing that won’t be at this years show will be the Show Car Auction. This is my fault as I didn’t get the advertising done early enough to make sure that there where sufficient buyers. It will defiantly be on again next year so don’t forget.

We have had some great enquiries from sellers of some very unique cars. Try a genuine Walkingshaw Commodore, a Holden EK Special and more. If you are interested in these cars let me know and I will put the owners in contact with you. Or you can come along to the show and see them in person.

Just in case the cars aren’t enough for you, we have got a great band playing and for the kids we have jumping castles and lots more.

Tickets are available from the gate and parking is free.

See you at the show.

Russ.

January Newsletter:

Only a short time now before Sydney Car Festival 2006 is under way and it’s looking to be bigger and better than ever.

We have the best cars in Australia coming along to challenge for the custom made trophies on offer at this years event including the Extreme Entrant Award which is a hand made piece of art.

Features of this years event include that crazy orange tank from the Summernats making an appearance. They have informed us that the tank will give the “U-Turn” comp a go. Should be interesting.

Ben and Victor will be back, but this time they will have Bens new Monaro on show for the first time and the whole team are in brand new colours never seen before by the public.

Debbie and Peter Gray will be attending the event just after coming first and second at the Burnout Masters Competition in their Blown injected black Camaro. But don’t worry about trying to beat them, they will be doing demonstration burnouts only.

On the show car scene, there will be several cars never seen before in the Sydney Show scene, including the new Summernats Grand Champion Aaron Fitzpatrick in his  Datsun 1600, an unreal Ford Mercury from Perth, and much much more.

For those of you who have a car and haven’t entered yet you had better get moving as spots inside are being snapped up fast and there definitely wont be any left on the day. If you need an entry form head down to your local Repco store, download one off the net or you can just give us a call.

The Dyno Comp is starting to hot up, Mark Hayes will be there in his Big Block LC Torana, so will Jason and Tristan from Trick and Mansweto with their Big Block Capri, these guys will be fighting it out in the Big Block class and maybe even for overall. Not forgetting that this year for the first time Dyno Dynamics are bringing an AWD Dyno just for the comp and Rob Vickery from Melbourne is bringing his coupe 4 Monaro for a run in the AWD V8 class. There is also 4cyl and 6cyl in the AWD class.

If you want to have a Trade stand at the next event you had better get in really quick as all the indoor spots are nearly taken. We have some great deals going at the moment and have been swamped with enquiries.

Prices for the event are the same as last year both for the entrants and the spectators with the parking at the gate still free, yes that’s right free parking in Sydney, almost unheard of.

So if you haven’t got your entry in yet you had better get moving.

See you at the show.

Russ.
